When I launched Mama Maya I had a goal that we would become a certified B Corporation within our first 2 years (which we did!). WHY I hear you ask? And what does that even mean?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
B Corporations are a special group of businesses that put purpose before profit. Internationally-recognised, forward-thinking companies meeting the highest standards of social and environmental impact, accountability and transparency.

We’re committed to producing our organic swaddles ethically and as sustainably as possible, and we’re also committed to our purpose at the heart of Mama Maya – to funding birthing kits for mamas giving birth in remote areas of developing countries. It’s one thing to say you’re doing good, but I wanted to be accountable to this – and that’s what being a B Corp is all about. It’s agreeing to a rigorous external assessment of all facets of our business every two years and means you can be assured we take our footprint and our impact seriously.

In celebration of B Corp month this month, I’m sharing some of my favourite B Corps below, brands that I personally use and love, and I know you will too!

ELKIE & ARK

There is nothing quite like sleeping with beautiful bedlinen and I’m absolutely in love with these sheets. Made using the softest certified organic and fairtrade cotton and linen, Elkie & Ark donate all of their profits to community causes around the world, so you can really sleep soundly!

KOALA

We bought a Koala mattress last year and it absolutely lives up to the hype (and the thousands of 5 star reviews!). Not just the comfiest mattress, they also sponsor koalas with every purchase, and even partner with a organisation that will collect your old mattress for free to restore and donate to people in need.

ALL THE WILD ROSES

Luxe boho fashion label All The Wild Roses is designed on the Northern Beaches of Sydney by Hang Osment-Le and ethically made in her home country of Vietnam. I have so many of these beautiful pieces, sustainably made using deadstock fabrics – my fave is the Arabella dress – it’s perfect for a bump (or a pasta belly, in my case!)
