Mama Maya is now a certified B Corporation!
We’ve joined a global network of brands such as Patagonia, Warby Parker, Ben & Jerry’s, TOM Organic, Emma & Toms, Republica Organic and Keepcup to be recognised for using the power of business to create a positive impact on the world.
What is B Corp certification?
Certified B Corporations (B Corps for short) are forward thinking, for-profit companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Corps are companies that use the power of business to help solve social and environmental challenges that our world faces today.
B Corp certification is similar to fair trade but determines environmental and social impact beyond product attributes or production processes. The assessment takes a deep look into a company’s leadership, governance, suppliers, communities, etc. in order to determine (and ultimately score) the social and environmental impact that an organisation has on all of its stakeholders. The minimum score for certification is 80 out of a possible 200, and Mama Maya scored 109.3!
What does it mean for you?
Being certified as a B Corp – and by agreeing to a rigourous external assessment of all facets of our business every two years – means you can be assured we take our footprint and our impact seriously. We’ll continue to create beautiful baby swaddles fairly, ethically and sustainably in luxurious organic cotton, and help more and more mothers around the world have a safer pregnancy and birth. Best for your little ones, for the planet, and for people around the world.
